started doing high intensity interval training. not sure how much it will help me until I go to Korea, but oh well. might as well be healthy for 2 days

Sushibar Da - new sushi place in Kingston

Green Dragon

Shoyu Ramen

There used to be placed called Maru, a japanese ramen shop, that opened couple years ago. But it closed down and now here it is with another sushi place which seems like just a little bit of an upgrade or maybe just a name change.

Got ramen for some reason, but it was no different from Maru's version of it. I was quite impressed with how pork belly was cooked in the soup, but what always disappoints me is the noodle itself. I can't really expect them to make the noodle though by themselves, but still.... If it was handmade.... oopps, didn't feel like it to me. I probably wouldn't have another ramen from here. Note I am asian and I have high standards for asian cuisine.

In the case of the roll, although I only had green dragon, it's not that bad. It was delicious, but I would consider green dragon to be on simpler side of the thing and it didn't have any raw fish component, which is a big criteria in grading sushi restaurant for me. Although it wasn't the worst place I've been in Kingston, I think there are better options.

They gave us fruits covered in syrup as dessert for free which I really liked. A lot better than crappy orange some of other restaurants gave us.

I can't really rate this place due to lack of menu variety I have tried. Give it a try if you are into Japanese food, you never know what you find good.

 

G.O.D. IS BACKKKKKK

I mean I knew about this news, but just looked at the album and listened to most of the songs. I have numerously stated in my radio show that my favorite korean artist of all time is GOD. not the religion one. They are back as the full original 5. It's a shame that the concert is happening this month, when I'm still in Canada, but oh well. They originally announced they will only do concerts, but with the popularity of the songs, there is a possibility of doing tv shows which I am really hoping for. I WANNA SEEEEEEE THEMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

programming project seems like a no go

There was a plan to start a programming project with couple friends, but seems like no one is finishing up the tasks that were assigned and the one person that was leading the project just finished everything. I'm not sure how much I got out of the 'tasks', but I was kind of hoping for more than simply creating a pdf to text file program in which all I did was make a simple interface.

Man on High Heels(하이힐) Review

The movie was initially promoted for its action scenes, but what many didn't know until close to the release was that it had a deeper story than a fancy fighting scene. A famous and brutal policeman has a feminine side that he had to hide. The story goes to show how he tries to become a transgender, but his previous work as a policeman interferes with his plan.

I was very impressed with the story within and how the feminine side of the main character played by Cha-Seung-Won was portrayed. The fighting scenes in the first half were very impressive, but the fights near the end of the movie didn't impress me at all, rather it seemed very slow and clunky. The ending had somewhat of a relief element and a depressing element which is ok with me.

I give this movie 3.5/5 and recommend you to watch it if you get a chance.

Insec criticized for swearing to chinese players

Insec, a famous Korean LoL player, who created the Insec Kick, was moved to chinese team, Royal Club, recently when KT Bullets did not have a good season. Ever since he moved, the news on Insec has been pretty quite in Korea, until recently when someone captured a screenshot of Insec swearing to chinese players saying 'sb chinese', 'sb jungler'. Apparently sb is a swear word in chinese or it could be shi-bal (korean swear word), but he is getting criticized by the Chinese community for his attitude. I have like Insec for his flash plays and his team in general when he was with Kakao, but we'll see how he do in the new environment.

Tried blogging again

So I used to run a Korean blog which was pretty successful in my opinion but kinda let it go because i was getting lazy 4 years ago. I started getting interested into writing again and tried to reestablish the blog, but realized how it is just like any other stuff. If you are not staying up to date with the news of the scene, you are behind. My blog is not up to date in its appearance and analytics. I'm not sure how far I can get into it at this time, but I guess might as well start writing and hopefully it gets somewhere.

Coding

Started a coding project with couple friends. Typical group projects where some people don't finish the tasks in line with others. I guess it is bit different from typical academic setting that it is between friends and casual. And not like I'm really doing much better, asking the person who is leading the group on pretty much everything. Not sure how far this will go, but starting get interesting.
